Process for Writing Reading Responses: Writing Body Paragraphs

Plan and organize the response:

                                i.     Choose the best evidence to support each body paragraph; choose a variety of evidence from different parts of the text

Task: In groups, choose the best evidence from the story "Am I Blue?" to support/prove the main idea given

ii.     Write the body paragraphs: state main idea, give 1-2 sentence context and integrate a relevant quotation, then elaborate on what that part of the text means and how it proves the main idea

Task: Write the body paragraph for the evidence you chose

Homework: For your 2nd reading response, focus on revising your claim and body paragraphs.
