Test Prep: Homework Due Monday April 16

Please do the following by Monday April 16 (these are the first 3 blog entries due for this final quarter; they can be done in one post. Also, read, read, and read!):

#1:

Please go to my blog entry on student reading responses. Read at least 2 students' blog entries from here; click on the links I provide.
  • Write a blog entry about your 2 favorite blog posts from my list.
  • Write at least 1 paragraph explaining at least 2 elements you liked about each student's entry.
  • Finally, write a paragraph on how you will improve your own blog entries. Include at least 2 ways based on the students' work that you read.
#2:
Read my blog entry on plagiarizing. Write a blog post in which you answer the questions from this entry (they are at the end).

#3:
Read a current article (from the last month) on any topic of interest to you from a recommended newspaper or magazine including (click on any of the links below):
Make sure you have a:
  1. lead and thesis in intro
  2. two or three body paragraphs that support the thesis; include transition, topic sentence, textual evidence, elaboration.
  3. conclusion
  4. correct grammar and mechanics
Possible questions for thesis:
  1. What is the purpose of the article and why is it important?
  2. What has this article helped you better understand?
  3. How has this article changed your thinking?
  4. In what ways do you agree and/or disagree with this article?
  5. Write a compare/contrast essay. How does this article connect to something else you have read?
