II. Creating a Respectful and Inspiring Reading and Writing Community - One of the benefits of the blog is being able to read and respond to one another. We will be regularly commenting on each other’s posts. Follow these guidelines:

• write 3-5 sentences using academic language
• what to include in your comment - here are some choices:
• make connections - what does the writer make you think, feel, or know?
• agree/disagree with the writer's perspective or interpretation and explain why
• offer suggestions for reading - what texts have you read that relate to the response?
• ask questions for further discussion
• identify writing techniques and offer alternative ideas for writing

III. Read and comment on synthesis pages of the students in your group.

• Click on Comments at the end of the post. Type your comment and publish.
• Whose blog posts did you comment on?

• What did you learn from others’ posts that you can apply to your own?

IV. MOMA Blog Post: After attending the museum on our class trip, create a blog post on 1 or more of the works of art you focused on during the tour. Include:

• What is the work of art (title and artist) and what does it look like (details and medium)? Include an image.
• What does it make you think, feel, and know?
• How was the trip valuable overall? How can looking at art be applied to your lives?
