Lesson for Friday December 6

Learning target: Students will read and annotate Upfront magazine and analyze social issues.

Distributors: please distribute the new Upfront and vocabulary word web (they're on my desk).

Task:

1. Read the new Upfront magazine. Note main idea and new vocabulary throughout.
2. Choose 2 full-length articles that make you think about social issues. Write 2 annotations on social issues in your notebook or post-its.
3. When you are done with 2 annotations, begin working on the vocabulary web or read your independent reading book.

Homework:
1. Choose a new vocabulary word from Upfront or independent reading. Complete a word web. Due Wednesday 12/11.
2. Read!!! Update reading log.
3. 813 only - synthesis page due Tuesday.
