- What does the author want you to know? Describe who is speaking and what the context is. Summarize what is happening in that part of the text.
- What does this part of the text make you think, feel, and wonder? Did you find yourself resisting this part? Did it make you uncomfortable? Why?
- Why might this be seen as "objectionable"? To whom?
- How can you validate or defend this part of the text? What positive value does it have?
- What connections can you make to other parts of the text, other texts, your self, and the world?
- What new assertions or realizations have you developed?
