You must know the following literary devices: pun, personification, allusion, oxymoron, hyperbole, irony, simile, and metaphor. I will give the definition and you will write the device next to it.
I will then give you 4 passages we have gone over in class, and you will write the literary device used. Passages are from 1.1 and 1.5, so practice by identifying literary devices in these scenes.
Also, you will need to answer basic questions about the main characters in Act 1. Focus on 1.2 and 1.5.
Finally, there will be a short answer question about Romeo's attitude about love. You will have to write a paragraph.
