"A book, too, can be a star, 'explosive material, capable of stirring up fresh life endlessly,' a living fire to lighten the darkness, leading out into the expanding universe." - from Madeleine L'Engle's Newberry Medal Acceptance Speech

Parting is such sweet sorrow... (shout outs and so longs to 805)

In these last ten months, I have watched you grow past your comfort zones and challenge yourselves in thinking, reading, and writing. I have also changed and grown in this time. The beginning of the year was especially difficult for me since my father became sick and passed away. However, teaching actually helped to strengthen and heal me. And I was grateful for the compassion and kindness many of you showed to me during this time in my life.

Your class has been a delight to teach. After feeling frustrated and angry at other classes for not doing their work or caring enough about school, I would feel so much calmer and more inspired by 805.  You truly are "children of divers kind" with distinct abilities and qualities.
