Accountability and Engagement Rubric

PREPARATION/BEHAVIOR STANDARDS (ACCOUNTABILITY)
1: rarely meets this standard
2: sometimes meets standard
3: usually meets this standard

1. ORGANIZATION/PREPARATION:
Student starts class by getting to his/her seat right after the 2nd bell, taking out agenda book, writing down homework; he/she is organized and prepared with supplies and homework.
2. FOCUS/ COOPERATION/BEHAVIOR:
Student listens to and makes effort to understand and synthesize instruction, takes notes when necessary, and follows directions; follows rules of the class including not chewing gum and not misusing his/her cell phone.
3. INDEPENDENT WORK:
Student works independently on a task by understanding the task, managing his/her time well, working through difficulty by getting help when needed, staying focused, and completing task to the best of his/her ability; he/she applies and is working toward mastering skills taught.
4. GROUP WORK:
Student works effectively in small and large groups by participating, being a good listener, taking a leadership role when necessary, and working cooperatively to complete the task.
5. CHARACTER AND COMMUNITY:
Student acts with PRIDE -
Positivity - have a positive attitude, be present in the moment, and take pride in what you do
Respect and responsibility – respect one’s self, others, and the environment
