Students are expected to:
- follow the Code of Conduct outlined in the agenda book
- be open-minded and positively engaged in the experience
- bring their own food and drinks
- be cautious and safe
- use electronics responsibly and respectfully
- no gum, candy, pens, or electronics in the museum
Schedule:
Friday November 7 (811)
Wednesday November 12, 2014 (810)
- Meet in the auditorium or cafeteria at the beginning of 1st period
- Get into groups with chaperones
- Leave school by 9:15
- Walk to F train at 9th Street
- Transfer for Uptown 6 at Broadway-Lafayette; get off at 103rd St.
- Walk to Museum of the City of NY on 5th Ave. between 103rd and 104th Streets
- Eat lunch in Central Park or outside of museum from approximately 10:30-11:15
- Walk through museum before beginning guided tour at 12pm; finish at 1:30
- Return to MS 51 and get dismissed from the school
Homework:
Write a blog post about what the trip made you think, feel, know, and/or wonder. Write 2-3 paragraphs. Extra credit: include original poetry, illustrations, and/or photographs. Due Monday for 811; Friday for 810. For more information on the museum, go to: http://www.mcny.org/exhibitions/current.
