- read and annotate the short and extended response rubric for the test; the copies are in a hanging file folder on my desk - one responsible person may look for them
- distribute the benchmark assessments that are in a pile on the middle window sill; each class should be together
- read over your short and extended responses; score your own answers based on the rubric; finally, revise the responses in your test booklets. If necessary, rewrite on a separate sheet of paper.
- IMPORTANT: each student must have a completed and revised benchmark assessment by tomorrow; if you were absent the day of the assessment, you must take it home and complete it for homework.
- make two piles to be collected - one pile of just the answer sheets with the bubbled in answers and one pile of the test booklets
- when you are done, read silently
