Reading Challenges: As an effort to make independent reading more interesting, I have created monthly reading challenges. If you choose to participate, please complete the challenge of the month and write a reading response for each book (on your blog). It must be completed by the last day of the month. Successful participants will receive an ELA certificate (hw pass/extension or extra credit) + a surprise reward. If you will be participating, please comment on this entry and let me know what you plan on reading and if you have any questions.
November: Read at least 2-3 books from the following bins in the classroom library (# of books depends on length and difficulty; read at least 600 pages): Social/World/Historical Issues, Roots and Identity, or Feminist Lens. Books that fall under these categories that are not in my library will be considered. Consult me first. Also, the books must be at or above your reading level.
