* Note: all classes, 805, 807, and 813, have double periods; these instructions are for both periods.
- In your notebook, write down today’s date and Independent Reading. List title and author of your book, starting page, and end page once you finish reading.
- Read for 1 ½ periods, about 60 minutes. As you read, take notes on post-its or in your notebook; answer the 6 questions on the handout provided last week.
- After reading for about 60 minutes, complete the Annotations Handout for Independent Reading. Look back at your notes, and choose the best note and evidence for each question. Write down an excerpt and elaborate. Hand in the completed chart by the end of the period.
HW: Bring in complete rubrics for creative response or synthesis page on Monday. Be ready to share. Your writing should be published on your blog; print or bring in original copy.
