Period 4:
- Have Collectors collect and alphabetize reading logs/rubrics.
- Distribute Parts of Speech Review sheet found on my desk. Have students read and complete the exercise.
Periods 6-7:
- Take out draft of synthesis page which was to be done for homework. Revise it by making sure you have a clear focus stated clearly, including the best 2-3 examples from the text, elaborating on each example in 2-3 sentences, and writing a 3-5 sentence conclusion that relates to the focus. Use the guidelines I gave you, and make sure to refer back to the text. You may peer revise with your partner sitting across from you. If the coverage teacher allows it, the monitors can distribute laptops, as long as they are distributed and collected in an orderly and timely manner.
- Read and annotate independently. Write in your notebook: date, title and author, start page, end page, and write down most thought-provoking note.
- Homework: Complete the final draft of the synthesis page; it is due tomorrow. Publish it on your blog and bring in a copy.
