"A book, too, can be a star, 'explosive material, capable of stirring up fresh life endlessly,' a living fire to lighten the darkness, leading out into the expanding universe." - from Madeleine L'Engle's Newberry Medal Acceptance Speech

Spelling and Sentence Review

Your next quiz is on Monday, December 6. Please study the Basic Spelling Rules handout and the Sentence handouts that you received. If you lost those sheets, it is your responsibility to photocopy them. On the quiz, you will have to spell 20 words based on the basic rules that we went over, and you will have to correct comma splices and run-on sentences. Here are some great sites that will help you review:

1) Sentence structure and correcting comma splices:

2) Basic spelling rules:

Remember, on the day of the quiz, Ms. Manners and I will be conducting a review during Zero Period.
